Role Description
The Associated Press is seeking a Treasury Analyst to join its Treasury department, which manages the company’s global cash to ensure liquidity for operations and adopts best practices in working capital management. The Treasury Analyst will support the department by liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including US, UK, and international finance staff, global banking partners, third-party providers, external and internal auditors, and various internal departments such as tax, accounts payable, accounts receivable, technology, and legal. This is a hybrid role based in AP’s headquarter office (New York, NY) and reports to the Assistant Manager, Treasury.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Treasury Operations: Assist the team with payments, related inquiries, KYC requests, etc.
  • Record Keeping: Record miscellaneous Treasury cash accounts and distribute monthly statements.
  • Cashflow Forecasts: Update cashflow forecasts daily.
  • Direct Debits and Standing Orders: Set up and maintain direct debits and standing orders; manage ACH debit blocks and filters.
  • Corporate Credit Card (T&E) Administration: Handle monthly invoice reports, terminations, new card issuances, assignments to Concur, daily inquiries, and transaction reports.
  • Merchant (Credit Card) Processing/Ecommerce: Administer merchant accounts and implementations, including opening and closing merchant IDs, reporting, user administration, and tracking merchant fees.
  • Government Contracts Registration: Maintain annual registration of CCR and ORCA sites; process AP member bond redemptions.
  • Bank Fees: Prepare London and NY monthly bank fees, review B of A analysis statements, and prepare bank fee accruals as required.
  • Petty Cash: Maintain petty cash.
  • NY Based Relationship Bank Accounts: Manage signatories, and the opening and closing of accounts.
  • Check Printing Administration: Maintain check stock and place check stop payments.
  •  Handle ad-hoc Treasury projects as required.
  • Provide back-up for other team roles during absences

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years of hands-on experience in accounting or financial analysis; Treasury experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial issues.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on additional projects beyond day-to-day responsibilities
  • Proficiency in SAP ERP system, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Adaptability in working hours and location as needed (Hybrid Work Environment)
  • Advanced-level proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Authorization to work in the United States for any employer


Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Knowledge of Bank of America Cash Pro, Barclays Internet Banking, and Citibank CitiDirect, FX Pulse.

 

Salary & Benefits: The anticipated salary range for this position is $65,000 – 72,000, contingent on experience and other job-related factors.
